It Started raining / drizzling on us as we started to hike after lunch. The trail was narrow, slippery and had metal cable hand rails on the exposed drop off cliffs. Glad for clouds so we couldn't see the full extent of the drop. Took 3 hours in the rain to gain 2400 feet elevation. Kathy is dreading the return tomorrow.
We are the only ones (aka "idiots"--Kathy added that comment) here at the Gleckstein Hut tonight. It sleeps up to 100 in the summer.
Views supposed to be amazing (like the Grindelwald Glacier pic) but we haven't seen much yet. Did see four ibex come near the hut for the salt lick.
Hoping for some sun and safe hiking tomorrow... To the next hut---supposed to be easier, but we'll see. I'll just take better weather.
