All my train worries yesterday were for naught as our flight arrived early, customs was nothing but walking under the 'nothing to declare' sign, and the trains were very easy to understand and use. We made the 9:40 train to Interlake--a full hour earlier than my plan.
After a quick stop at the Coop for some apples, fresh carrots and strawberry yogurt drink (actually pretty good), we boarded the cog train (prev pic) for Schynige Platte (6500') where we spend the first night. Many visitors here during the day but only 12 of us stayed the night (6 of the 40 rooms).
Stay includes dinner and breakfast. At dinner we sat next to the glass looking out at the peaks. About 7:30 we were treated to an amazing sunset.
We crashed after dinner and slept nearly 11 hours--after less than 4 fitful hours on the plane.
Breakfast and our hike are next on the agends. Hopefully I'll have WIFI to continue these entries.
