Tuesday - off the grid

Decided to break from the schedule due to rain (tired of hiking in it) and snow (on the trail where we are going).  Was still raining as we lingered over a late breakfast of coffee, juice, yogurt, soft boiled egg, and bread with cheese,  sliced meats, and delicious homemade jellies.

Later in morning decided to look around in the 'village' (Grindelwald) as our host Anita calls it.   So we started the 30 minute walk.

On the way we go past the Glacier Gorge area, a big slot canyon, see pic.   They have a tunnel and trail near the water as a tourist attraction ($10).  We passed on it.

Continued to town, found a place to eat lunch, and if course a chocolatier (there were 3 in one block).

The sun started to come out so we decided to take the train to Kleine Scheidegg to see the snow, where we were supposed to hike to.  Several others seemed to have the same idea.

Yep, lots of snow there (pic).  This was the black colored mtn in pics from Day 1.
